Performs the primary function of an RN in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the care of patients in the Wound Healing Center. Responsible for meeting the established Wound Healing Center Standards of Nursing Practice in the management of all assigned patients. Assists physicians with the development and implementation of wound treatment plans and participates in performance improvement review activities. Acts within the guidelines of federal and state laws, JCAHO Standards and professional and ethical practice.
Education & Experience:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
Minimum of two (2) years experience in Medical/Surgical required.
Wound Care experience preferred.
Licensure & Certification:
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Maryland or compact state required.
- Current BLS Certification required.
While performing this job the individual will work in well-lighted clinical rooms. The job requires sitting 50% of the time and standing and walking 50% of the time. Frequent bending and reaching and ability to lift and carry supplies and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. required. The job requires the ability to lift/assist with patients weighing up to 300 lbs. The job requires visual and auditory acuity and ability to orally communicate. There is a potential for exposure to communicable diseases and/or blood and body substances and hazardous materials.
