This would also be an ideal position for someone with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting OR Finance who has two plus years of accounting experience in general ledger accounting.

This position provides day-to-day accounting support to the business unit(s) including but not limited to primary responsibility for accounts receivable. This position will also be responsible for general accounting and accounts receivable for corporate, close and month end processing including some Balance Sheet Reconciliations, general accounting analysis as assigned, and providing accurate, timely and relevant financial information to internal clients.
Serve as primary contact for Accounts Receivable for defined region.
Audit “shipping" reports and prepare and issue billing weekly, in accordance to contracts ensuring proper support documentation for billing and route for necessary approvals and mail.
Research issues as required for assigned task(s), resolve routine concerns and escalate necessary problems timely.
Perform general accounting responsibilities, including preparation of journal entries, research and documentation of processes and procedures, resolve questions related to general ledger activity, ad-hoc analysis, and other tasks as assigned.
Review and maintain general and sub ledgers for completeness, identifying reconciling items and communicating corrections timely.
Assist with Month end, quarter end and year end close as assigned (data entry, research, running standard reports etc) preparing necessary journal entries.
Assess and understand the relationship between the balance sheet and P&L.
Assist in preparation of analysis and data support for Audit, Tax and other reporting deliverables.
Develop and recommend process improvements that leverage technology and maximize overall efficiency maintaining proper internal controls and efficiency in reporting deliverables.
Develop and maintain a thorough working knowledge of company’s accounting policies and practices to include compliance with US GAAP regulations.
Provide support for budgeting and long range planning processes.
Assist in preparation and gain experience in communicating presentations to management and clients.
Position requires familiarity of commonly used accounting concepts and general policy and procedures such as GAAP.
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university from an accredited school required. Finance or Accounting undergraduate degree is preferred.
A minimum of two to four years of accounting experience along with familiarity of commonly used accounting practices, policies and procedures required.
Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications
