This team deals with more networking issues. They are responsible for Voice (VoIP) services and FCC issues that deal with multiple carriers. Good networking skills (e.g. CCNA) with less work experience will also be considered. Training is provided. Its a Tier 1 position, you will be monitoring systems for outages, try and solve the problems with SOPs, and then if you can’t do that, ticket it and then escalate it. They are looking for someone who is proactive with monitoring, diagnosing and documenting issues/problem alerts. The position requires a multi-tasker who has some technical and strong communication skills. You would be responsible for monitoring their alarm system and communicating with clients and team members regarding network troubles.
Assist in developing and documenting Standard Operating Procedures for making network changes. Ability to debug hardware and software system level problems in a multi-vendor IP environment
IP networking concepts including switching, and routing, LAN/WAN protocols and topologies. Should know and understand RF theory as it pertains to WiFi Networks
Working knowledge of transport, routing and signaling protocols including but not limited to SONET w/Client (OC3-OC192), Cable (DOCSIS),T1-T3 OC3.
Working knowledge of switching, including but not limited to; IGMP, 802.XX, Gigabit Ethernet, 10G Ethernet, Vlan/Trunking (802.1q And ISL), Etherchannel, Wireless, Spanning Tree (STP), HSRP, VRRP .
Working knowledge of WiFi Networking, Controllers, Access Points and, network manager tools.
You must be open to shift work. Prefer folks who are flexible in working all shifts. Training will be M-F 8 hours days (AM shift). Once trained, you will move to a 4 days x10 hour per week that will include one weekend day (either SAT or SUN).
