Job Description

Summary:
This role will be responsible for assisting the Retail business in managing purchases 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities: 
• Independently analyze requests in order to reach resolution and achieve most efficient and accurate resolution of open items 
• Receive estimates/statements of work (“SOW") and create purchase requisitions (“PR") for purchase order (“PO") creation 
• Receive invoices and process goods receipt (“GR") payment 
• Ensure necessary approval for GR payment 
• Assist Supply Chain in PR to PO to Work to Payment process 
• Troubleshoot supplier issues 
• Manage communication of open issues from beginning to resolution 
• Provide ad hoc SAP training to team members 
• Ensure continued service delivery and customer satisfaction without compromising the relationship with suppliers and staff 
• Adopt strategies to maintain strategic and continued relationship with suppliers 
• Manage Relationships between procurement, AP and suppliers 
• Arrange ad hoc meetings with staff and vendors to discuss issues affecting processes flow and possible measures for resolution 
• Maintain proper record keeping and documentation of purchase request and payment related items 
• Troubleshoot payment issues with multiple departments as needed and frequent communication of open issues. 
• Tracking large monthly invoices to ensure timely payment processing. 
• Identify and communicate gaps/breakdowns in cross functional areas and provide solutions for improved workflow 
• Work closely with Marketing, Sales and Operations to determine appropriate solutions. 

Job Requirements

Education: 
Bachelor’s degree preferred. 

Experience: 
Minimum of one years work experience within the energy industry or in a shared services model. Strong attention to detail and directions. 

Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA’s) 
• Works independently through the use of initiative and self-motivation. Must be a self-starter able to work with minimal supervision. 
• Adapts effectively to new and changing environments. 
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills. 
• Excels in quickly conceptualizing and assimilating data to make decisions and take appropriate action. 
• Employ critical thinking skills in order to achieve the most accurate and efficient resolution, where answers are highly variable and unique to the situation.
• Good written skills to document processes, policies and procedures. 
• Ability to work effectively in a team oriented environment. Able to take a leadership role in a project team to establish plans, coordinate team activities, and assure successful completion of objectives. 
• Proficient in effectively communicating to a wide range of audiences in both written and oral form. 
• Comfortably handles risk and uncertainty. 
• Proficient in the operation of personal computers and windows-based software and knowledge of Excel. 

Physical Requirements: 
• Open office environment. 
• Some overtime work required as needed. 


Job Title: Retail Purchase Planning Analyst II 
Work Location: Houston, TX 

Summary:
This role will be responsible for assisting the Retail business in managing purchases, training stakeholders on purchase related processes and procedures, and achieving process improvements within the payment workspace. 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities: 
• Independently analyze requests in order to reach resolution and achieve most efficient and accurate resolution of open items. 
• Use critical thinking and problem solving skills to ensure accurate and timely delivery of requests. 
• Review quarterly vendor spend reports to identify discount payment opportunities. 
• For all of NRG Retail, process estimates/statements of work (“SOW") and create purchase requisitions (“PR") for purchase order (“PO") creation 
• Process goods receipt (“GR") payment 
• Work with Supply Chain to ensure correct roles setup as users come on board or change roles 
• Develop training materials and lead training for all Retail teams of proper procedures 
• Assist Supply Chain in PR to PO to Work to Payment process 
• Educate business on appropriate payment method for unique scenario (PPS (utilities), Payment Request forms, Invoice Plan, PO, non PO or pcard) 
• Troubleshoot supplier issues and escalate to appropriate department for resolution (AP, Supplier Reg, Tax) 
• Manage communication of open issues from beginning to resolution 
• Provide ad hoc SAP training to team members 
• Ensure continued service delivery and customer satisfaction without compromising the relationship with suppliers and staff 
• Adopt strategies to maintain strategic and continued relationship with suppliers 
• Manage Relationships between procurement, AP and suppliers
