Job Description

 The Sr. Data Center Technician will support the new business development activities plus ongoing support in multiple data centers around the state.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide support to resolve data center infrastructure problems in support of the Data Center Infrastructure

• Perform analysis of Data Center infrastructure environment and resolve issues accordingly

• Participate in technical projects involving server, storage and network implementation infrastructure requirements

• Evaluate infrastructure hardware requirements and provide recommendations

• Respond to service requests from support groups, vendors and suppliers

• Maintain documentation of data center floor design, power and cabling layouts

• Provide comprehensive cable installation and testing

• Provide and maintain cable documentation and labeling

• Responsible to comprehend cable infrastructure requests, install, test and maintain as designed

• May need to do occasional overnight travel or work 12 hour Operations shifts

• Work on week- long rotational on-call for all New Mexico Data Center locations for any issues requiring Data Center Infrastructure staff presence

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF A SENIOR DATA CENTER TECHNICIAN:

• Coach Data Center Technicians on procedure and process

• Participate with Data Center Technicians in project and maintenance duties

• Participate in Audit and Compliance activates and reporting

• Review documentation for accuracy

• Develop documentation as required

• Assist with project coordination and development

• Assist with documentation required for development of a project or deployment of a project

• Maintain the asset tracking mechanism required

• Maintain the integrity of the data center in accordance with policy and best practices
