Job Description

SUMMARY: 
As a product development engineer, you will have the opportunity to be an integral part of a cross functional team bringing new, innovative ideas from inception to production.  

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure product success; i.e. delivered according to specification, within cost targets and project schedule.
  • Lead product design validation activities; performance to specifications, durability, appearance, and ensure product meets agency requirements when applicable.
  • Work with the Prototype Shop for the creation of prototypes and samples required for validation of concepts and designs 
  • Provide technical assistance to cross-functional groups as required.
  • Facilitate FMEA, DFM/A, Voice of Customer (VOC), root cause analysis sessions.
  • Apply engineering analysis methods, statics, strength of materials, materials to complex design, development and validation of products and components.
  • Continually scan the market place for emerging trends that can be included in new/existing product lines.


Job Requirements

REQUIREMENTS: 
  • Bachelor's Degree Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in new product development
  • Strong background and understanding of product development processes from idea to product launch.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to travel up to 20%
