Job Description

Job Summary:

  • Support the tactical efforts of both Client and Transportation Insight to ensure achievement of strategic corporate initiatives

Primary Responsibilities

  • Work with client's Corporate Logistics team to facilitate communication throughout the organization, including introduction and collaboration with cross-functional business partners concerning transportation responsibilities (25% of allocated time)
  • Serve as liaison between field operations and corporate management to assist in developing and implementing standardized transportation processes and procedures (25% of allocated time)
  • Provide trending, root cause analysis and develop recommendations for improvements in regards to cost, efficiency and operational need (20% of allocated time)
  • Coordinate the delegation and successful completion of tactical tasks such as load planning, invoicing, carrier vetting and remediation of day-to-day issues with appropriate supporting groups (10% of allocated time)
  • Work with leadership to introduce suppliers to the Transportation Insight partnership and support compliance initiatives (10% of allocated time)
  • Develop/Participate in published communications (reports, internal meeting, QBR's) to highlight the progress in relation to defined goals (10% of allocated time)

Additional Duties:

  • Hold monthly operational review meetings with Corporate Logistics Group
  • Attend Weekly Operational Logistics meeting with plant coordinators
  • Provide transportation rate support for domestic (US/Canada) EF bids
  • Assist with general ad-hoc analysis to include transit time analysis, and mode comparison analysis
  • In the event of non-coverage, on-site account manager will communicate with EF customer service and find alternative options
  • Conduct weekly operational meetings with Customer Service and Contracts Managers
  • Organize and attend QBRs with Top 10 Strategic Carriers
  • Provide recommendations to address coverage deficient O/D Pairings
  • Provide TMS training to plant-level logistics personnel
  • Apply lean principles to streamline TMS-related processes
  • Provide oversight and act as the point of escalation in support of the reconciliation/freight audit support for the Transportation Insight Business Analyst and EF Accounts Payable Department
  • Identify cargo optimization opportunities (e.g., consolidation, multi-stop, etc.)

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or similar field, or commensurate experience
  • 5 years of large client experience, preferably within a Fortune 1000 organization
  • 2-5 years of experience within Transportation industry - preferred
  • Position to be based onsite in High Point, NC
  • Proven experience building client relationships through internal partnerships
  • Ability to partner and communicate effectively with all levels of client personnel (to include VP level) and operate within an matrix environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to work cross functionally amongst multiple departments
  • Excellent written, oral and presentation skills
  • Solid problem solving ability to identify client needs and translate client need into solution requirements and supporting departments
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects with established deadlines
  • Up to 25% domestic travel
