Who We Need: We currently have a position available for a trailer mechanic at our Remington, Indiana shop. We are seeking a highly motivated, skilled individual with a knack for problem-solving to fill it. Position is full-time with a second shift schedule (3 PM to 12 AM CDT, Monday through Friday).


What You'll Do: Trailer mechanic duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Accurately completing written records of work performed on vehicles

  • Communicating vehicle status to drivers, maintenance coordinators, and the shop foreman

  • Conducting fuel, electrical, and other diagnostics

  • Maintaining a clean work and shop area

  • Performing various types of preventative and break-down maintenance on heavy duty diesel engine tractors and trailers under limited supervision

Job Requirements


Our Ideal Candidates: The best fit for our positions will have the following qualifications:

General Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or other equivalent required; Completion of some coursework towards, or a certification / vocational degree in, diesel automotive technology or related area preferred

  • Valid driver’s (operator's) license required; Possession of valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) a plus

  • Knowledge of and / or experience with welding and trailer electrical systems

  • Dependable

  • Hardworking

  • Punctual

  • Strong communication skills

  • Team-oriented 


Physical Qualifications

  • Able to be exposed to physical environment which involves dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes, or similar elements for entire work day

  • Able to use motor coordination with finger dexterity (such as keyboarding, machine operation, etc.) for most of the work day

  • Able to exert physical effort in handling objects 50 pounds or less for most of the work day

  • Able to occasionally lift more than 50 pounds with or without assistance
