Job Summary – Manager, IT

Join the Hirsch Information Technology Team – it’s not just a job, it’s a career! Under the direction of the Director of IT, this position provides information management services for the company to maximize the effectiveness of data collection, processing, and reporting.  Defines and solves user requirements and develops and implements computer applications and solutions. The position is responsible for the management and protection of the company network, servers and telecommunications systems.  The Manager of IT will assist in developing and executing IT strategy and aligning IT resources to achieve the company’s business strategy across multiple business channels.

  • Design, develop and implement comprehensive, computer based information systems to ensure user’s needs are met and data is processed according to company specifications and requirements. Users include both internal and external customers.

  • Define user information requirements by conferring with users and analyzing their respective functions. Recommend and develop computer-based business solutions.  Plan system applications and assign staff to develop, test and complete programs. Evaluate effectiveness of programs and offers solutions to enhance effectiveness.

  • Prepare and maintain technical specifications and related documentation to secure procedures and prevent system failure. Responsible for development, implementation and maintenance of the company's disaster recovery plan.

  • Direct implementation and execution of new/upgraded information systems via well-defined plans including procedures, deadlines, and accountability.

  • Ensure hardware and software is maintained and data is secured through proper back-ups and staff training.

  • Coordinate the management of the company servers and data network including user administration, maintenance, tuning, backup, security, documentation and reporting.

  • Ensure users/customers are provided professional, courteous, and timely support and service.

  • Direct and oversee user training programs.

  • Provide leadership for employee relations through effective and timely communication and coaching, while ensuring compliance with company policies.

     

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or Information Systems Management

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Five years experience managing and/or directing an IT operation in the distribution industry.

  • Proven experience in IT infrastructure strategic planning and development, project management, and policy development.  Experience with systems design and development from business requirements analysis through to implementation and day-to-day management.

  • Good understanding and technical knowledge of current network and operating systems, hardware, protocols, and standards and the ability to work with the following software and operating environments:  Microsoft Technologies (Server, Messaging, Collaboration, Web, Networking), Cisco, Telephony (knowledge with inter-Tel, Mitel or 8x8 a plus).

  • Strong background in a Microsoft Office 365 environment (Exchange, Sharepoint, Active Directory)

  • Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), Cisco Certified Network Engineer (CCNE), Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCNA).

  • Leadership: a demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Strong team player.
