Located in Franklin Park, Illinois, Gabby’s Bagels is looking for experienced Quality Control Technicians to join our 1st and 3rd shift manufacturing QA teams. As a member of our Manufacturing Quality Assurance team, the Quality Control Technician will enforce quality, safety, and sanitation regulations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment for either the 1st or 3rd shift. Your prior experience or familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) will ensure your success in this dynamic role. Quality Control Technician (Manufacturing QA)

Job Responsibilities

As a Quality Control Technician, you will be responsible for inspecting, sorting, sampling, weighing raw materials or processed baked goods, and checking products for defects and deviations from specifications.

Additional responsibilities of the Quality Control Technician include:

  • Inspecting or measuring baked products for conformance to specifications
  • Recording inspection data such as weights, quantities inspected, and metal detector records
  • Comparing colors, shapes, textures, of products with samples to verify conformance to standards
  • Performing daily QA floor audits
  • Recording temperature control daily checks
  • Calibrating inspection tools
  • Notifying supervisors or other personnel of production problems
  • Discarding or rejecting products if not meeting specifications

    Job Requirements

    Successful candidates for the Quality Control Technician should have the flexible availability for working all shifts, including weekends and holidays. Someone who is able to lift up to 40 lbs. and able to work in areas that contain allergens (wheat, soy, and eggs) would be a good fit for this manufacturing quality assurance role. Additional requirements of the Quality Control Technician include:

    • 1 - 3 years of manufacturing experience in a food QA / QC role
    • Experience or familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), BRC, and/or AIB, preferred
    • Ability to accurately maintain all documentation, analyze information, and create reports
    • Familiar with Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint
    • Excellent customer service skills
    • Bi-lingual (Spanish), preferred
