Job Description

As a key member of the Senior Leadership team reporting to our Sr. Vice President, Technical Operations, The VP of IT provides overall direction for all facets of Iron Bow’s internal information technology services, to include Oracle E-Business Suite, system and network infrastructure, user support services, and information security.  The position will be responsible for defining and executing on the company IT strategy, maintaining a disciplined operational environment, managing team members and team makeup, financial management, and customer satisfaction.  The Vice President will establish and maintain successful internal relationships to ensure an effective working environment, and will manage their team to do the same.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Set objectives and strategies for the IT department.

  • Partner with business leaders to establish technology strategies that improve operational efficiency, enhance capabilities, and reduce operational costs.

  • Design, implement and maintain systems to improve internal and external customer experience.

  • Lead continuous process improvement initiatives to enhance service to internal and external customers.

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the department including directing teams who support computing, networking, user services, telecommunications and other information technology functions.

  • Oversee the technology infrastructure in the organization to ensure optimal performance.

  • Maintain a proactive, disciplined operational environment based on ITIL and other operational best practices.

  • Effectively manage communication with the user community, company management and partners.

  • Assess and mitigate operational points of risk to ensure availability of key services.

  • Organize and direct new technology initiatives and other project activities.  Plan the implementation of new systems and provide guidance to IT professionals and other personnel within the organization.  Routinely report project status and risks as well as escalate impactful issues and resolutions in a timely manner.

  • Lead the recruiting of new team members, and manage the ongoing performance and development of team members within the organization.

  • Coordinate & manage the company technology budget, approve purchases of technology products, and consistently evaluate opportunities to reduce operational costs. Proven capabilities in translating technology needs into budgetary requirements.

  • Oversee Change Management to ensure orderly updates and implementation of new features.

  • Define operational performance metrics that align with Iron Bow business objectives.Provide routine performance reporting against those objectives.

  • Identify, evaluate and report on information security risks in a manner that meets compliance and regulatory requirements, and supports the risk posture of the enterprise.Define policies, standards and processes to ensure that our practices address points of risk.

  • Ensure the creation of information security and risk management awareness training programs for all employees, contractors and approved system users.

  • Ensure the security of all IT assets.

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Hands-on, detail-oriented manager; Self-starting leader with outstanding initiative.

  • High degree of personal integrity and ethics.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills for leadership, technical and business audiences.

  • Experience with planning and process improvement.

  • Strong business and project management background.

  • 15+ years of significant IT leadership experience and managing seasoned professionals within a complex business environment.

  • Strong problem-solving capabilities with the ability to influence, communicate and work closely with individuals at all levels of the organization.

  • Bachelor’s Degree (College/University Degree and/or Undergraduate Diploma in Information Security, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or Mathematics) or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

  • Proficiency with common information security management frameworks.

  • Prior knowledge and/or experience with budget and expense management.

  • Ability to work under constantly changing conditions and tight deadlines; Ability to manage multiple goals and deadlines;

  • Accomplished team builder, motivator, coach and mentor.

  • Knowledge of Cloud and As-A-Service offerings.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • This position is based in the Washington, D.C. area.Travel to attend partner events, as well as meeting with other Iron Bow personnel in various locations will be required.Travel is not expected to exceed 25%.
