FUND ACCOUNTANT/INVESTMENT ACCOUNTANT/REAL ESTATE ACCOUNTING


We are actively seeking a talented and professional Real Estate Fund Accountant in Madison, NJ for a global leader in Investment Management and Insurance.

  • Must have between 3-5+ years Fund and/or Investment Accounting experience
  • Must possess Real Estate Accounting experience
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related
    • 3-5 years of financial statement preparation and review experience required
    • 1-3 years of real estate fund accounting experience
    • Public accounting experience and/or CPA is a plus
    • Experience working on financial audits preferred
    • Knowledge of taxation for partnership and corporations is a plus
    • Knowledge of REIT structures is a plus
    • Working knowledge of joint venture waterfall and income calculations is a plus
    • Understanding of basic finance concepts such as NOI return, cash flow returns, IRR, DCF, time weighted returns
    • Knowledge of GIPS is a plus
    • Solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles as it relates to fair market value of real estate and/or related investments.
    • Strong quantitative skills and demonstrated analytical ability
    • Proficient in Excel
    • Strong leadership and development skills
    • Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to meet competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment and work well under time constraints
    • Strong interpersonal, communication and partnering skills
    • Overtime is expected and required during quarterly peak reporting periods
    • Must be local to Madison, NJ


JOB DETAILS AND DESCRIPTION:

Description:


The Fund Operations services and supports PGIM Real Estate in the accounting and financial reporting of their portfolios. The Manager supports Director and Fund Controller and is primarily responsible for understanding accounting implications of all transactions and ensuring the proper execution of accounting and all reporting for their assigned portfolio.

 

Major responsibilities include:

 

  • Review and ensure accuracy of quarterly and annual financial statements for a Real Estate Investment Fund
  • Review and timely delivery of quarterly fund analytics and reporting
  • Responsible for portfolio level debt oversight
  • Responsible for coordinating the Valuations process with Asset Managers, internal valuations team and external vendors
  • Reviewing timely and accurate quarterly data submission to various industry organizations and consultants
  • Interacting with Portfolio and Asset Managers in on-going operational matters
  • Reviewing models to calculate partner splits as it relates to partnerships investments and similar financial calculations
  • Reviewing accounting for real estate transactions including buyouts and conversions
  • Participate in interactions with PGIM Real Estate Legal, Transactions and Valuations staff on investments
  • Review accuracy of management and incentive fees
  • Assisting in the various audits with internal and external auditors
  • Assist in managing and completing multiple processes within tight deadlines while responding to various requests from many parties
  • Participate in various training classes for Operations or cross functional groups - such as accounting for complex deal structures, record keeping within certain systems, and/or the rolling out of new or changes to existing processes
  • The Candidate will also be called upon to assist in special projects related to systems implementation that involve property/portfolio data, establishment of new or redesigned portfolios, and major Enterprise initiatives.
