JOB SUMMARY The Advanced Development group drives the creation of new opportunities by exploiting new technologies and enabling breakthrough product development for the fast-evolving intelligent grid. Technically sophisticated on the inside, future systems must deliver unparalleled user experience, outstanding long term value and solid operating profits. To meet our demands, and those of our customers, we need agile, creative and determined individuals.

We are looking for an Engineering Manager with hands on experience in hardware design.   We need a Manager who is comfortable working at component level.  You will be managing an engineering team in the development of control systems (control module) comprising of processor, power supply and motion controller.


·         Work well with other functional managers on multi-discipline, matrix-managed product development teams to prioritize and coordinate activities

·         Hire, retain and develop team members in the design, simulation and troubleshooting of analog, digital, mixed-signal, and power electronics circuits

·         Lead cross-functional teams at multiple geographic locations.

·         Write functional specifications, hardware test plans, design documentation and architecture descriptions for complex digital, analog and mixed-signal systems

·         Transition solutions from design to production, including defining systems-level product qualification testing, life testing and in-process manufacturing inspection and test


Job Requirements

BSEE with graduate qualification preferred

·         At least 10 years’ experience in a leadership position in electronic hardware design, including digital, analog and mixed signal systems, along with their simulation and test

·         Experience interfacing with internal and external customers to define scope, plans and priorities across several projects to meet overall business objectives

·         Strong interpersonal skills to drive the team’s performance and communicate project needs to all stakeholders

·         Track record of new product development, from concept to commercialization and long-term engineering support, working both with in-house and contract teams

·         Thorough knowledge of analog and digital and mixed-signal circuitry, with deep expertise in one or more of the following:

o    Buck, boost, buck-boost, flyback, SEPIC and variant topologies

o    Sensor technologies, low level analog instrumentation in a noisy electrical environment

o    High speed circuit board layout on mixed-signal boards.

o    DFMEA, DFM/DFT techniques and tools

·         Enthusiasm, drive and a sense of urgency

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills
