Job Description



The CFO position reports to the CEO and serves as an integral member of the senior leadership team. The CFO provides leadership, management, supervision, and the vision necessary to ensure that the organization has the proper financial controls, as well as administrative and reporting procedures in place to effectively grow the organization and to ensure financial strength and operating efficiency. The individual will be responsible for developing, monitoring and evaluating overall corporate strategy with the CEO and leaders of programs and business units with emphasis on bottom line performance, and working capital. The individual will attend and participate in Board of Director meetings and will serve as staff liaison to the Foundation Board and the Finance and Audit Committees and work closely with all. This position will provide useful financial insights to help make better decisions about formulating and executing strategy.  In addition, this position serves as acting President in the absence of the President and assists that President in all aspects of organizational leadership as requested by the President.  Supervises three direct reports.

Job Requirements



  • Master’s degree with significant management and leadership experience in the nonprofit sector addressing family services.
  • Current Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required.
  • Minimum ten years of experience of increasing level of financial and managerial responsibilities.
  • Minimum ten years of accounting and operational experience.
  • Experience in creating performance metrics including financial successes and outcomes measures.
  • Skill in supporting the vision of the organization to ensure that all stakeholders share a consistent image of the organization’s future and are engaged in and committed to making the vision a reality.
  • Requires high level of motivation with ability to work independently with low level of supervision.
