Job Description

Summary:   This position is responsible for planning utilization of facilities, equipment, materials, and personnel to improve efficiency of operations by performing the following duties..
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
 
  • Designs, documents and maintains manufacturing processes on new and existing product lines.
  • Maximizes efficiency through process controls, SPC, analyzing layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and work force utilization.
  • Determines equipment and tools needed in order to achieve manufacturing goals according with product specification.
  • Design new and maintain existing engineering designs for gaging and production fixturing
  • Provide cost estimates for manufacture of new and existing product lines.
  • Provide technical engineering support to manufacturing operations, quality, maintenance and supply chain through procurement.
  • Be familiar with TPS approach and applications.
  • Must be knowledgeable in implementing process FMEA
  • Must have knowledge of Design for Six Sigma – DFSS and/or on Advance Product/Process Quality Planning (APQP)
 
Job Dimensions (Budget, Staff, Work Environment, etc.):
 
  • Reports to the Director, Manufacturing & Engineering
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  

Job Requirements

Major Competencies/Skills:
 
  • Experienced and knowledgeable in Forge Metal Finishing Field.
  • Experienced and knowledgeable in Lean Manufacturing Principles
  • Experienced and knowledgeable in Industrial Waste Treatment, Pollution Prevention
  • Experienced in mfg. Engineering, CAD/CAM
 
Education and/or Experience:  Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in applicable field of study from an accredited university, industry certification or equivalent work experience.  2 to 4 years of manufacturing experience in forging, heavy manufacturing, metal fabrication or industrial coating application.
