Laboratory Technician I

Description: Position is part of Process Science in Global Manufacturing Science & Technology (MSAT) within Specialty Care Industrial Operations (SCIO). The MSAT function assures robustness and economics of cell-culture based manufacturing process life cycle management (LCM). Will apply solid understanding of scientific principles and professional practices to contribute to MSAT-Process Science mission by performing various tasks in Downstream and potentially Upstream Processing.
 
Responsibilities:

• Drive 2nd/3rd generation LCM process development & support key strategic initiatives (such as Facility of Future).
• Lead Tech transfer, scale-up development & adaptation, process control strategy, process validation, comparability for biological products introduction at the company and external Industrial sites.
• Provide technical assistance to commercial manufacturing and QC at the company & external sites including change assessment, process monitoring, troubleshooting and continuous improvement.
• MSAT-Process Science is the process owner of all SCIO manufacturing processes, analytical methods and associated process control strategies for biological protein expressed from mammalian systems.
• Performing various tasks in Downstream and potentially Upstream Processing.
• Process samples via Tecan robotic system operation.
• Setup and support of filtration and chromatography system operations.
• Set-up and maintain general laboratory and MSAT tools/systems.
• Support buffer and potentially cell culture medium preparations.
• Collaborate with other scientists/engineers across the MSAT, Development and Manufacturing groups, and conduct necessary experiments to contribute to understanding and interpretation of results.
• Participate in recommending changes or additional experiments.
• Present data and results within department and project teams.
