Ammonia Refrigeration Technician
Harlan Bakeries is looking for experienced Ammonia
Refrigeration Technicians at out Avon location!
As an ammonia refrigeration technician,
you will be responsible for operating, inspecting, maintain, and repairing our
ammonia refrigeration equipment. We are
looking for the right person with an operating knowledge of plant
refrigeration, steam boilers, compressed air systems, minor plumbing, water
pumps and water softeners.
At least 5 years’ experience working in ammonia,
industrial refrigeration, and steam boilers;
At least 3 years’ experience working in
manufacturing maintenance working on high speed equipment;
Hands on experience in industrial
refrigeration, plumbing, water systems, water softeners, and water pumps;
Knowledge and working experience in HVAC and
electrical is a must;
Municipal, state, military, or trade license or
certificate relating to the maintenance area is desirable;
Food and bakery experience preferred;
Knowledge of lockout/tagout and safety
Knowledge of safety criteria for ammonia
Understand, follow, and implement PSM;
Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 45
understand and be able to communicate in English, including but not limited to
reading and interpreting order forms and selection labels;
availability to work off-shifts (24 hour facility)- flexibility is a must!
Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair the following:
Ammonia refrigeration equipment
Preventative and predictive maintenance across
Compressors, condensers, evaporators, pumps,
Control of chemicals and water treatment systems
Ammonia detection system
Compressed air systems
Plumbing, water pumps, and water softeners.

Minimum of 5 years maintenance experience
High School Diploma or G.E.D. certificate
A municipal, State, military or trade license or certificate relating to the maintenance area is desirable. Achieve and maintain HAZMAT certification for ammonia and undergo first responder HAZMAT Training. Must have CIRO certification. Must have attended and passed a 40 Hour OSHA safety class.
To maintain this rating, you must consistently obtain good performance appraisals and continue to show proficiency in most areas of general maintenance.
