Job Description


Human Resource Generalist
Marathon Staffing Services is seeking qualified, professional candidates for a Direct Hire, Human Resource Generalist position in Orlando, FL.

The Human Resource Generalist will assist in the administration of salaried employment, people development planning, performance management/merit planning, benefits administration, labor agreement updates, equal opportunity employment, safety, training, employee communication, preparation of new job descriptions, and updates of HR Policies and Procedures.

Professional Responsibilities:

●  Coordinates external recruitment searches for exempt, salaried positions, as directed by Company management

●  Coordinate People Development Plan for three plants, the corporate office, and the sales team employees

●  Assess Training needs and establish Training Plan for three plants, the sales team and the general office employees

●  Oversee and Coordinate all Salaried Personnel functions, including, but not limited to, policy deployment of salaried objectives, coordination of performance reviews for all GPP employees, timely administration of merit plan, and recruitment and orientation of new salaried employees

●  Maintain human resource department files and records and retrieve information, as required

●  Assist Managers in Labor Relations issues, including, but not limited to, grievance administration, labor negotiations, contract interpretation, and coordination of legal issues

●  Coordinate and assist with open enrollment and cost sharing correspondence. Handle distribution of employee benefits information, as required

●  Prepare Summary Plan Descriptions and other materials to be issued to employees to keep them informed of benefit plan changes and to fulfill legal requirements. Monitor the Company's fringe benefit plans to assure that all employees receive prompt and accurate processing of their insurance claims

●  Coordinates revisions of group health insurance, pension and collective agreements following contract negotiations

●  Coordinates the Company's internal posting and selection program in compliance with all legal requirements. Ensures that applicants are interviewed and selected in a fair and equitable manner, ensuring procedures are followed relative to employment, and reference checks are completed before an employment offer is made

●  Develop all salaried Job Descriptions, administer the Company's Job Evaluation Program and establish (with Salary Committee approval) the salary grades for all salaried positions in a fair and objective application of the program

●  Coordinates the establishment and maintenance of Human Resource related policies and procedures to maintain alignment with Company objectives and legal compliance

●  Assures that all new employees receive appropriate orientation to the Company and their respective jobs

●  Conducts industry and area surveys of wages and benefits and prepare cost data, economic and non-economic proposals for use in the Company's annual negotiations with unions representing its bargaining employees

●  Undertake special projects and assignments, as directed by Human Resource Manager

Professional Qualifications

●  Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or a related area

●  Experience must include at least three to five years of human resources generalist experience in the areas of training, salaried recruitment, salaried administration, benefits administration, wage and salary administration, labor relations, management/supervisory training, safety, EEO/AA and employee communications

●  Manufacturing experience is preferred, but not required

●  Excellent written and oral communication skills

●  Must be familiar with most governmental, state and federal laws and guidelines relating to employment

●  Willing to travel 20% of the time

●  Computer literate, able to utilize general business software

●  Able to pass a full background check and drug test
