FrankCrum is seeking a Unemployment & Garnishments Specialist to support sales and client retention through excellent customer service by processing garnishments, unemployment claims and employment verifications. 

Essential Duties

  •  Processes Florida and Georgia writs of garnishments and answers Florida and Georgia writ of garnishments in a timely manner. Releases Georgia garnishment checks with answers; compiles status reports when required; keeps and maintains accurate garnishments records in the electronic filing system.
  • Ability to correctly calculate deduction amount based on the employee’s pay frequency, order requirements, and CCPA guidelines.
  • Requests refunds owed to employees and/or clients.
  • Responds to requests from clients or employees for information, for example, a status of an income deduction, copies of garnishment orders, and various questions.
  • Answers phone calls.
  • Opens and distributes unemployment related mail, monitors and responds to the department’s emails one time a week.
  • Processes unemployment claims for all states:
  1. Communicates with clients regarding termination information, hearings, and appeal processes.
  2. Responds to initial unemployment claims for all states;
  3. Gathers hearing information from clients and coordinates witnesses;
  4. Appeals unemployment decisions and telephonically participates in hearings;
  5. Documents all communication regarding unemployment claims, appeals, and hearings in payroll system.
  6. Keeps all unemployment related records in the electronic filing system.

Minimum Requirements

  • Two (2) years of experience in accounting, human resources, or a related field.
  •  Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field or High School Diploma in combination with relevant experience processing unemployment claims and garnishments.

2.     Knowledge of Florida and Georgia garnishment regulations.

5.     Knowledge of modern office methods and procedures.

7.     Skill to effectively plan, organize, and prioritize work assignments to meet deadlines.

8.     Skill to establish and maintain filing systems, format, proofread, edit documents, and perform calculations.

9.     Skill to manage multiple projects.

10.  Skill to use and compose clear, comprehensive, and accurate verbal and written communication and reports.

11.  Skill to use Word, Excel and Outlook with proficiency.

12.  Skill to use various internet browsers and use websites proficiently.

13.  Ability to be effective when working independently or cooperatively as a team member.

14.  Ability to consistently project a professional appearance and demeanor.

15.  Ability to exercise professional judgment and initiative.

16.  Ability to interface with multiple departments, multi-task and work independently.

17.  Ability to listen carefully and respond to or refer customer requests and problems with diplomacy and a sense of urgency.

18.  Ability to look for opportunities to apply new ideas, methods, designs, and technologies.

19.  Ability to maintain a positive and respectful attitude.

20.  Ability to maintain diplomatic customer/client relations.
