Job Description

Logistics Planning Analyst (Transportation Analyst) 

Job Summary:

  • As the transportation analyst in the company Ground Transportation Operations Center Americas, you will have the opportunity  in a dynamic and fast phase environment.
  • You will help support ensuring freight is picked and delivered on time into company’s locations across North America.
  • Ensure right carrier, at right cost, delivers at right time for the company

Job Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities.

  • Present and explain proposals, reports and findings to clients.

  • Recruit employees, assign, direct, and evaluate their work, and oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence. 

  • Analyze technology, resource needs and market demand, to plan and assess the feasibility of projects.

  • Work with carriers, facilities, and suppliers to ensure freight is moving at the right time and best cost.
  • Communicate with process partners via email, sales force, and phone.
  • Follow up on late loads and communicate delays in process.
  • Second shift support to expedites and after hours phone calls.

 Typical Day:                                      

  • Receiving and Placing phone calls to process partners.
  • Handling a shared inbox.
  • Updating our transportation management system and freight order management systems

Job Requirements

Logistics Planning Analyst (Transportation Analyst) 

Job Requirements:                                            

  • Bachelor's degree or if no degree 4 years of Transportation experience preferred over degree
  • Must have strong interpersonal, collaborative, and interpersonal skills.
  • Good understanding of supply chain processes.
  • Strong team player willing to pitch in wherever needed.
  • Ability to work second shift (12:00 PM-8:00 PM).

 Skills and Competencies:

  • Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, attention to detail and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage one's time.
  • Knowledge of production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods. 
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, and production methods.
  • Knowledge of computer software, such as MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, etc. 

 Technical Skills:
  • Some transportation experience
  • Basic computer and Microsoft Office Skills
  • Transportation Management Systems experience a plus

 Soft Skills Required:      

  • Must have strong interpersonal, collaborative, and interpersonal skills.
  • Good understanding of supply chain processes.
  • Strong team player willing to pitch in wherever needed.
