Job Description

General Duties:  Assists with all technology services for the district; acts as initial contact for IT Help Desk support; contributes in design, development, and maintenance of computer software in support of all functions of the district; serves as technical consultant for all hardware configuration and maintenance. Reports directly to the Director of Information Technology.


Specific Duties:

  1. Assists in organization and implementation of the use of multiple operating systems and software on a variety of equipment.

  2. Consults with contract technicians in repair, replacement or upgrade of hardware, software, and network security.

  3. Offers assistance in the design, implementation, administration, and maintenance of hardware and software configurations.

  4. Acts as initial IT contact person for user assistance with software-related questions or equipment problems.

  5. Assists in the identification, research and resolution of technical problems.

  6. Documents, tracks and monitors problems to ensure a timely resolution.

  7. Assists in the support and maintenance of user accounts including authority, security and system groups.

  8. Performs routine maintenance duties such as new software installations, patches and system upgrades.

  9. Performs daily data backups and system recovery.

  10. Assists in the preparation of systems user support documentation and application training manuals.

  11. Performs other related administrative duties as assigned by the Director of Information Technology.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Three to five years’ experience in computer hardware, software and networking. SQL coding.

  2. Ability to develop comprehensive knowledge of overall appraisal district operations.

  3. Ability to effectively communicate with general public in a manner that reflects positively on public service.


Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Basic knowledge of Geographic Information Systems software.

  2. Advance knowledge of iSeries systems and software.
