Scope of Position (i.e. projects involved with and role within group):

Production level training activities supporting a startup MEMs Pilot Plant to support a major new product introduction. The Production Trainer will be responsible for operator training program reporting into the Quality organization.

 

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Provides hands on training to operators and inspectors.

  • Manage the Training Program and Records for production operators and inspectors.

  • Process all training documentation and ensure electronic recording in Corning Learning Central (CLC)

  • Coordinates training activities with supervisors and training friends.

  • Create and maintain Training class room materials (working closely with engineering group)

  • Create and maintain Training Certification-Audit checklists

  • Conduct procedural based audits for final operator-inspector certification

  • Reports training progress back to supervisors and makes recommendations for job fit

  • Ensure stream-lined and consistent production procedures (working closely with engineering group and technical writer) May require generating procedures.

  • Conducts quality awareness training (working closely with engineering and quality groups)

  • Responsible for attending all online meeting with Corporate and companywide Local Training Coordinators (LTCs)

  • Use CLC to generate reports for Supervisor use.

Job Requirements

Travel Requirements (please note if international):

None Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time: 40 plus hours to support 24 by 7 operation, primarily day shift M-F, but must be able to work alternate shifts

 

Education and Experience (minimum required for consideration):

  • An Associate’s degree or equivalent Experience

  • 2-3 years Production Training experience

  • Experience in semiconductor, MEMS processing, or electro-optical components manufacturing.

 

Required Skills (These are skills that candidates MUST possess):

  • Proficient in Microsoft excel, word, and power point

  • Experience in technical writing techniques

 

Desired Skills (These are skills that would be nice for candidates to possess):

  • Experience with conducting procedural audits

  • Substantial understanding of ISO9001:2015 Soft Skills (Communication/Team/Leadership)

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Solid communication skills (written, verbal, presentation)

  • Works well in team environment

  • Attention to detail and quality paramount.

  • Good organizational skills and ability to be flexible with changing work demands.

  • Highly motivated, results oriented, customer focused, with a high commitment level
