Job Description

POSITION: SR. Manufacturing Engineer
LOCATION: El Cajon, Ca.
SALARY: $90k - $120k (DOE)
DEGREE: BA / Mechanical or Manuf. Engineer
EMPLOYEE STATUS: Full-time / Direct Hire
DRESS ATTIRE: Business Casual

Working from engineering design documents, prototypes, and/or change orders, prepares labor and cost estimates and determines equipment, tooling, materials, methods of manufacture and facilities required to produce a particular product in scheduled quantities and at the lowest cost consistent with quality specifications by performing the following duties.
1. Computes cost factors and prepares estimates used for management purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work, preparing bids, selecting vendors or subcontractors, and determining cost effectiveness.
2. Leads special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or effect cost reductions.
3. Consults with clients, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
4. Oversee and directs associate engineers on research and/or development projects associated with the design and development of new products and services.
5. Determines the most cost-effective integrated fabrication and inspection method to meet customer requirements.
6. Responsible for quality liaison with customers; has specific knowledge of all customer quality requirements and specifications and is ultimately responsible for delivered quality of assigned products.
7. Resolves implementation and process problems and responds quickly to liaison requests related to manufacturing.
8. Maintains close working relationships with all departments and individuals involved on assigned projects, and coordinates with customer representatives as necessary.
9. Assist in the maintenance of a business culture which supports the Company’s overall business objectives and goals.
10. Ensure proper safety procedure is followed within the team environment.
11. Maintain clean work environment in full compliance with company, customer and government regulations.

Job Requirements

❖ 4 years bachelors’ degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering or equivalent in experience.
❖ Minimum 8 years’ experience within an aerospace manufacturing environment & OEM environment.
❖ Required knowledge in sheet metal forming processes (i.e. – drop hammer, hydro forming, etc.)
❖ Working knowledge of ANSI Y 14.5 – geometric tolerancing and dimensioning.
❖ Demonstrate ability to effectively collaborate with co-workers and customers.
❖ Prior experience in leading and providing technical leadership.
❖ Ability to follow and comprehend verbal and written instructions as well as present information in both verbal and written form.
❖ Understand and analyze reports, legal documents and effectively present information to management and public groups.
❖ Ability to perform mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts in all units of measurement in percentage, fractions and decimals as well as interpret graphs and technical drawings.
❖ Ability to work well in a diverse and team environment.
❖ Ability to learn basic computer skills.
