Job Description

Responsibilities include leading the program participants in their development of programming, database, leadership, and client interaction skills. This is done through leading hands-on workshops and coaching teams in their project work. In addition, the Technology Training Manager works with the Client Success Manager to properly scope the student projects with manageable complexity. This is an ideal position for someone with deep experience in programming education, app dev consulting, and supervising entry-level technology professionals.



Qualified candidates will have demonstrated abilities in working with interns, and have shown the ability to train and guide them in the technical aspects of technology. They also support the successful delivery of client projects on-time and on-budget.



essential duties and responsibilites:

Technology Instruction - Programming & Databases

  • Lead the workshops to teach programming and database development
  • Provide feedback on task assignments
  • Provide one on one coaching as requested by program participants
  • Provide guidance to mentoring organizations (e.g. Manpower) on the needs of the training participants at different times throughout the cycle
  • Participate in partner training sessions (e.g. to learn their curricula and implement specialization trainings


Training Program Support

  • Assist in recruitment process by participating in panel interviews
  • Mentor recruitment strategy meetings
  • Record attendance each day and manage probation process for individuals who violate the policy
  • Conduct and record intern performance reviews
  • Co-lead curriculum evaluation with Client Success Manager

Cycle Projects

  • In partnership with the Client Success Manager, meet with prospective clients to assess different project concepts and identify those with the best fit for training cycles
  • Help support the “RFP" for the project with a manageable scope
  • Work with lead developers within client organization to obtain necessary documentation, create system designs, and develop ‘reference architectures’ and modules that can be used by the i.c.stars participants to follow good coding principles and software design in their projects
  • Balance the need for the project to meet clients’ needs with the learning objectives for the program participants - e.g. even if the client already has a web service interface, teams should build a mockup of the database and data access layer to provide experience doing so
  • Provide coaching to help the teams with debugging and assess when they are capable of researching their own solution via stacktrace and other online resources vs. needing additional knowledge provided in house


  • Report on interns aptitude and understanding of technology as to be ready for job placement.
  • Report on current technology trends for high demand jobs
  • Report on the success of projects to leadership and clients

MINIMUM qualifications:

The requirements listed below are representative of the experience, education, knowledge, skill and/or abilities required.


  • Passion for developing entry-level talent demonstrated through prior experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience, preferably in application/web/database development, plus interest/experience in training.
  • Knowledge in python or other open source development frameworks.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and support entry level programming challenges faced by your clients
  • Consulting experience in a firm that utilizes entry level talent is a strong plus
  • Superior organizational skills and techniques with dedication to detail and experience managing multiple deadlines and competing needs
Exceptional phone and email communication skills
