Job Description

MHP Psychology is pleased to announce the opening of a full-time Staff Psychologist position. The preferred candidate will possess a generalist background, with specific competencies in providing psychotherapy and psychological testing services to diverse patient populations. Successful candidates should be able to work within a short-term treatment model and balance patient care with administrative responsibilities, in addition to demonstrating the ability to work well with other medical professionals in team-based patient care. Clinical supervision can be provided by the Director, Dr. Ashleigh Woods, for candidates working towards licensure/HSPP endorsement.  

About MHP Psychology Services: MHP Psychology Services is an outpatient mental health center affiliated with Major Hospital/Major Health Partners in Shelbyville, IN (about 20 minutes southeast of Indianapolis). The populations served include children (ages 3+) through adults. Patients present with a wide variety of concerns including behavioral and/or developmental problems, trauma histories and related diagnoses, mood disorders, and personality disturbances. Services provided include individual, family/conjoint, and play therapy, crisis assessment, psychological testing (e.g., IQ/educational assessments, personality assessments, and other social-emotional assessments), and community outreach.
 
Position Description: The Staff Psychologist is expected to maintain a rolling caseload to meet the needs of the center and Major Health Partner’s physician referrers. The composition of the Staff Psychologist’s caseload depends on the interests of the Staff Psychologist and the needs/referrals of the center. The typical schedule will include coverage during Major Psychology’s daily walk-in/crisis hours, rolling new patient appointments, follow-up psychotherapy appointments, psychometry, case management/paperwork time, and possible clinical supervision of doctoral-level psychology students. The Staff Psychologist is encouraged to participate in the student training program including, for example, group supervision, psychological testing seminar, and didactic series.     
 
Compensation & Benefits: Salary will be commensurate with the experience and/or licensure designation of the Staff Psychologist. The Staff Psychologist is eligible for employee benefits, including health and life insurance, paid days off, and participation in the retirement program(s). Please note that Major Hospital is a 501(c)(3) organization, which may qualify the Staff Psychologist for participation in the U.S. Department of Education’s Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program (http://studentaid.ed.gov/repay-loans/forgiveness-cancellation/charts/public-service).
 

Job Requirements

Application Requirements: Applications will only be accepted from individuals graduated or graduating from an APA-accredited graduate program in clinical or counseling psychology. Proof of completion of degree requirements by the start of the employment date is required. Application materials include: cover letter, curriculum vitae with contact information for three references, official graduate school transcript, and a writing sample (i.e., de-identified psychological test report, which is to include intellectual and personality interpretations). The cover letter should specifically address the candidate’s areas of practice and career goals, as well as the candidate’s theoretical orientation and style of working with patients.

•Doctorate degree from an accredited university and program
•Current license to practice in the state of Indiana as a Health Service Provider in Psychology (HSPP).
•The preferred candidate will have experience with behavioral and/or Mental health and working as part of an interdisciplinary team.
•Preferred candidate will have experience with men's mental health issues and addiction therapy
•Preferred candidate will have experience working with Medicaid funding source(s) and/or commercial health insurance processes
