Project Engineering Manager

Johnson Service Group is currently hiring for a Project Engineering Manager position for a client located in the western suburbs of Chicago. This Project Engineer Manager will play an important role to help the startup, installation and production layout of new facilities throughout the U.S. and assist with process improvements at existing locations.This client is a manufacturer of a variety of product lines utilized in construction and industrial products. This Project Engineering Manager position is a direct hire opportunity and relocation assistance is available. The details for the Project Engineering Manager position are as follows:

Job Duties for the Project Engineer include:

  • Project Engineering Manager will be responsible for managing several different engineering and maintenance projects to support the organization throughout North America Project Engineering Manager will travel to multiple sites to manage installations, work with contractors, design manufacturing layouts, develop new production lines, manage the development of new sites and buildings
  • Project Engineering Manager will troubleshoot problems and lead corrective actions on plant startups, installations, training and commissioning
  • Project Engineering Manager with be the technical lead on each specific project for design, analysis and layouts of buildings, equipment, state regulations, federal regulations, manufacturing efficiency and managing contractors (land surveyors, architects, HVAC, Service Engineers etc.)
  • Project Engineering Manager will work with all facilities and work with the installation and efficiency of several types of machinery and equipment including but not limited to fillers, wrappers, blenders, mixers, packaging equipment, polymer reactors, air compressors, HVAC systems, automated robots, spray dryers and conveyors
  • Project Engineering Manager will work with suppliers and vendors forprojects to review and receive quotes and work with CAD Designer to develop plant layout options


Job Requirements


Project Engineering Manager

Job Requirements for the Project Engineering Manager are:

  • Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Process Engineering or Mechanical Engineering is required.
  • 5-10 years of experience working in a Process Engineer, Industrial Engineer, Chemical Engineer or Manufacturing Engineer capacity is required Experience with process layouts, production layouts and capital improvement projects is highly preferred
  • Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time to manage plant startups and capital equipment projects
  • Experience working for a chemical manufacturing facility or with blending and mixing equipment is required
