Job Description

Medical Billing Management System Analyst

New York Cancer and Blood Specialists, a prominent and respected Oncology/Hematology group, is seeking a Medical Billing Management System Analyst to join a well-established and growing pure sub-specialty practice with academic affiliation. Practice manages a freestanding outpatient 7-day per week Cancer Center with extensive chemotherapy administration, Radiation Oncology, Pharmacy and Research department located throughout New York State.


  • Add new Doctors, sites, insurance plans into Centricity.
  • Troubleshoot issues with Centricity.  Work with Unlimited Systems (ULS) and our It Department to resolve any issues.
  • Request licenses for new Doctors for ULS.
  • Close Centricity batches each night and run daily reports after hours to ensure there are no unapplied funds.
  • Work with the office site billing facility to ensure the system balances to the Accounting Department.
  • Create spread sheets to offsite billing facility to load into Centricity (new fee schedules, patient dumps) and test system prior to mergers and review insurance cross walk for mergers.
  • Set up Doctors with new fee schedules.
  • Monitor system for claim errors, patient demographic errors and look for trends.
  • Create new user accounts and identify and trend billing delays.
  • Create and maintain automatic Crystal Reports (AR Reports)


  • At least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Experience across multiple practice management systems GE Centricity preferred, clearinghouses, Onco Electronic Health Record systems is a plus and payers preferred.
  • Strong computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft and Crystal report writing a must. 
  • Knowledge of healthcare delivery, clinical practice, and healthcare operational support. 
  • Project management skills preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and proven ability to interact with Executive Management.
  • Strong research, analytical and decision making skills.
  • Ability to gather data, compile information and prepare reports. Creates and presents complex ad hoc data analysis and reports as appropriate to the area of expertise.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Willingness to address issues and take ownership knowing when and how to escalate issues.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills and ability to meet multiple deadlines.
  • Standard working schedule of Monday – Friday with weekends/holidays as needed based on organizational needs.
  • Ability to develop and conduct or participate in specialized presentation and training, as appropriate, covering operational and/or technical medical practice information.

Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00pm.  Candidates need to be flexible.

Salary up to $65,000 based on experience.
