Job Description

Human Resources Assistant
Maryville Addiction Treatment Centers
Entry Level - Newly Created Position

Since 1949 our treatment programs have helped bring hope, health and healing to those suffering from substance addiction. We are expanding and adding to our team of dedicated staff members. Currently we are in need of a Human Resources Assistant to help with our growing staff. The person hired for this newly created position will work along with the HR Director in our Turnersville office and assist in HR matters that relate to all Maryville employees in all of our locations.

  • Organize, schedule and execute new hire and benefit orientation.
  • Provide and assist in recruiting activities.
  • File and record administration.
  • Interpretation, communication and administration of Human Resources and agency policy and procedure.
  • Familiarity with the standards of FMLA, ADA, FLSA, COBRA, OSHA, EEOC, & HIPAA compliance.
  • Assist/or possible back – up for payroll processing when needed.
  • Maintenance of routine administrative jobs.
  • Handle special activities as assigned.
  • Ability to balance role of company advocate and employee advocate.
  • This position may require limited travel to our other agency locations throughout NJ to address HR related issues.


  • Associates Degree required, Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources preferred.
  • Prior Human Resources experience, preferably in a social service environment would be a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products required.
  • Familiarity with payroll/HRIS systems would be a plus.
  • Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Reliable and dependable work ethic
