Job Description

Test Engineering Manager Position Description:


Tisora Group is in search of a technical and leadership oriented Test Engineering Manager to support New Product Development, Sustainability, and Productivity Designs that have high complexity.  This is a direct hire opportunity with a worldwide organization who is looking for a candidate with at least 13 years of professional experience.  This individual will be responsible for extensive development of new test strategies, updating analysis tools, participation in FMEAs and 8D problem solving, building processes for conducting ALT, HALT, and HASS testing, and outlining test automation initiatives.


The ideal Test Engineering Manager will have field expertise in the principles of reliability testing and a comprehensive knowledge of UL, IEC and FCC test methods.  This role will also lead quality improvement or productivity projects for existing products.

Test Engineering Manager Overview:


  • Oversees team of Test Engineers and provides mentorship opportunities

  • Creates, maintains and executes test plans on hardware and software of products

  • Estimates test efforts, analyzes and communicates results, tracks defects, conducts G R+R studies and measurement uncertainties

  • Leads efforts for maintaining alignment of product requirement to test procedures and develops user story cases for test hypothesis

  • Provides oversight of Test Engineering team members on NPD teams and productivity / sustainability projects

  • Reviews test reports for projects and assists Test Engineers with projects

  • Directs the operation on a variety of computer automated and  manual test equipment including data acquisition systems, environmental chambers, RF chambers, acoustics chambers, EMC test equipment, electrical test instrumentation, vibration systems, and assorted measurement transducers.

  • Active member of Design Review Committee - involved at each stage in product development process

  • Evaluates results of EMC testing of RF emissions, RF sensitivity, radiated and conducted immunity, and RF electrical safety evaluation.

  • Leads activity in defect analysis, root cause analysis, studies product functional impact and provides key insight of observed product performance and defects.

  • Establishes new test methodologies and provides framework for custom test fixture design and automation methods.

  • Works cross-functionally to facilitate creation of electro-mechanical products

Job Requirements

Test Engineering Manager Requirements:


  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Master's Degree a plus)

  • Minimum 13 years of professional engineering experience

  • In Depth Knowledge of FMEA and 8D Problem Solving

  • Understanding of LabView and NI Instrumentation

  • Thorough understanding of FCC, UL and IEC Regulatory Guidelines

  • Knowledge of statistical methods in reliability testing

  • Experience with wireless communication systems including WiFi, BTLE, or Remote Keyless

  • Experience managing team of engineers

  • ALT, HALT, HASS Training and implementation / Conducting Anova Gauge R+R a plus

  • LIMS software experience

  • SAP ERP software experience

  • ASQ Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) is highly desired

  • Six Sigma Certification is a plus

  • Familiarity with MS Office Applications including Word, Excel, Visio, Project
