Manager of Sales and Trade Planning

As a leader in the sales team, the Manager of Sales and Trade planning is responsible for designing and implementing the sales strategy across all product lines (Juice, Fresh and Arils) for POM Wonderful North America. This role includes designing strategies to maximize price / volume, managing trade spend, engaging with the sales team to ensure they have the information to be successful, tracking all sales KPIs and working in close collaboration with senior business leaders to ensure that sales goals are met. The role leads a team of two sales analysts and will require occasion travel to attend customer meetings and to visit the plant. This position provides an opportunity for a strong sales / trade planning manager to join an exciting and fast-paced sales team to help the company achieve its goals.

Here's what you'll do:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Sales leadership

  • Own the planning and implementation of pricing and trade programming for all product lines (Juice, Fresh and Arils) to maximize return
  • Work with the Sales leadership on optimizing promotional planning and approvals by channel / account
  • Attend customer meetings with sales team to promote the brand / product
  • Lead weekly cross-functional update meetings with sale, finance and operational functions present
  • Manage the team to ensure all channels and accounts have the information and analytical support to meet their needs
  • Lead cross-functional improvement projects to improve sales / trade execution and product availability
  • Perform other tasks as required

Sales execution

  • Guide the team to produce high quality sales tracking KPIs both weekly and monthly and communicate updates to senior business leaders
  • Develop tools and analytics to assess ROI of trade and optimize promotional performance
  • Manage team to create the weekly forecasts including all promotional volume; continuously improve forecast tools to improve accuracy
  • Engage sales leaders to follow up on sales performance and create interventions to drive sales
  • Work closely with accounting on validating/approving deductions and repay requests

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Effective communication skills both verbal and written across a diverse audience
  • Highly analytical with demonstrated understanding and use of internal shipment reports, financials, trade management systems and market data
  • Highly proficiency in Excel, proficient in Power Point, Word, and Outlook required

  • Ability to build professional and clear reports
  • Knowledge of standard project management and milestone-based task management
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, multi-project environment and support multiple internal customers

 Here's what you'll bring to the table:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree in business management, economics, accounting, marketing or related area with 5+ years of sales or sales planning experience.
