Quality Technician Job Summary
Quality control begins with inspecting products, but this method does not affect quality. For continuous quality improvements, you must combine the finished product inspection with methods that reduce the factors that result in poor quality products. As our Quality Technician you are responsible for carrying out ROCKWOOL standard tests on our products and process parameters so that adequate control of the production process can be maintained to ensure quality of our finished products are within specifications. You serve as the frontline auditor of our products on the production line to confirm product quality before we deliver to our customers, also performing additional testing on any returned materials for root cause analysis and investigate customer complaints. Standards are important to the bottom line and leads to lower costs by reducing redundancy, minimize errors or complaints and reduce the time to market. Our Quality Technicians drive these standards by immediately communicating to key stakeholders to control production parameters that maintain our products within specifications.
What skills and qualifications do you need for the role of a Quality Technician?
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous continuous flow manufacturing or industrial experience and working with automated equipment preferred.

What are the day-to-day responsibilities of a Quality Technician?
- Using specialized lab equipment provided to carry out testing on products being produced and following specified test methods.
- Reporting of testing results via the platforms utilized at ROCKWOOL including but not limited to SAP, Microsoft programs and Quality Database.
- Prioritizing testing according to testing schedule which provides critical information to the continuous production process in a timely manner for corrections that may need to occur.
- Communicating with co-workers in various areas on test results of products in their area for possible adjustments both verbally in via any required recorded method.
- Communicating with supervisor and operators on quality results that would require and immediate action to product or process for correction.
