Job Requirements

Basic Qualifications 

Required Education & Experience:

·         Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field

·         At least one (1) to three (3) years of accounting experience

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

·         Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

·         Time management and organization skills

·         Ability to complete routine accounts payable tasks accurately and on time

·         Ability to meet and maintain accurate and timely work products

·         Ability to work as a member of the Accounting Team     

Preferred Education & Experience:

·         Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field

·         Working knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)

·         Experience with SAP or similar system

Department/WG: General Accounting

Reports To: General Accounting Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Summary

The General Accounting Specialist adheres to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and is also responsible for processing accounts payable (AP) documents, vendor master data, purchase requests from various departments, setting monthly standard cost, assisting month-end closing, budgeting and completing other ad hoc assignments.

Essential Functions

·         Review and approve AP accounting documents from various departments using appropriate GAAP/IFRS practices and internal control policies and procedures

·         Examine and approve all purchase requisitions for each department through Mobis’s internal purchasing system in accordance with internal control policies and procedures

·         Maintain vendor master data in SAP System and/or other required platform

·         Execute monthly standard costing procedure in a timely manner

·         Assist department manager with budgeting, month-to-month operation, and business plan

·         Prepare the AP list statement for some vendors

·         Upload intercompany transactions to Business Planning and Consolidation (BPC) system after monthly closing

·         Purchase the accounting department’s various office supplies and maintain proper stock through general purchasing guidelines, policies and procedures

·         Assist with quarterly and annual audits

·         Organize and maintain files in the accounting file room

·         Scan and deliver invoices to responsible departments

·         Identify and implement productivity and process improvements

·         Ensure company adherence to policies and procedures

·         Assist the department with month-end closing

·         Perform other ad hoc responsibilities as assigned by the Department Manager, Head of Department (HOD), or CFO
