We are a Technical Support company in Austin looking for a few Jr. GIS Technicians that are energetic, ambitious, and team-oriented with a strong work ethic. At this time, we are all working Remote until COVID-19 guidelines have been lifted and we are safe to go back into the call center.
The Scope of the position:
Handle day to day transactions/tickets using client provided tools, guidelines and policies to achieve daily, weekly and monthly productivity targets at expected quality levels
Should be able to make decisions based on certain evidence and resources provided by the client
Situations, where the client provided evidence, is not available, the candidate should be able to research and identify the right information
0-1 year experience in GIS/Support environment
Prior experience in using map editing/GIS platform and ticket management tools is a preference
Geographic Information System (GIS) basic process knowledge is a preference
Any school experience in GIS/Maps will be a preference
Good communication skills
English fluency (written and spoken)
Analytical and logical reasoning skills
Attention to detail
Develop and incorporate GIS data layers as directed by GIS Management.
Ability to use Esri ArcGIS software and understand relational database management systems (RDMS) software.
Ability to create map layouts for reports and presentations.
Conversion of existing geospatial data from various raster or vector formats; Ability to georeference and digitize existing paper/digital maps.
Develop and maintain metadata for all geospatial data layers.
General understanding of GIS concepts; map design and cartographic principals.
Have some knowledge/familiarity with GPS data collection.
