Job Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop rapport with residents to encourage a sense of safety and trust
  • Maintain appropriate boundaries with residents and staff
  • Oversee camera/surveillance equipment
  • Immediately report any staff misconduct and/or performance issues to direct supervisors along with video footage when necessary
  • Manage/Archive visitor logs and visitor calendar
  • Loss Prevention tasks
  • Supervise gate and visitor access
  • Collaborate with Director of Campus Support and Maintenance Technician in relation to fire code regulations/compliance, routine facility checklists, and fleet management (designated parking, lock checks)
  • Develop standard procedure and conduct routine fire drills; document outcomes (evacuation times, completion of head counts, clearing residents and staff based on rosters, compliance with roster use, etc)
  • Conduct routine perimeter checks of campus
  • Collaborate with law enforcement in relation to resident related cases and facility safety matters/incidents
  • Report any suspicious behaviors from strangers or unauthorized visitors
  • Intervene during any visitor and/or resident related altercations with the least restrictive means.
  • Respond to calls from Direct Care staff in relation to potential AWOL; engage resident and partake in discouraging resident from AWOL.

Job Description

StreetLightUSA is a Christ-Centered organization who serves adolescent girls age 13-17 who are victims of child sex trafficking and sexual trauma. Served victims are members of Arizona Department of Child Safety (DCS) custody, private placements and those within the Arizona Foster Care System (AZ QFCO). The basic instinct shared by victims of child sex trafficking is "fight or flight". She runs from her emotions of fear, disappointment, shame, deceit, loss, addiction and loneliness; a teen ill-equipped to cope with the complex trauma she has experienced.

The StreetLightUSA Campus Security and Support Officer is responsible for ensuring and maintaining the security of the StreetLightUSA campus, including its residents and personnel. This individual is skilled in surveillance, problem solving, and quick thinking in stressful situations.

Hours Per Week: 20

Qualification Requirements

  • Background clear of any criminal offenses disqualifying employment (i.e.: Sexual abuse of a minor, first or second-degree murder, sexual assault, sexual exploitation of a minor, felony drug offenses, robbery, dangerous crime against children, etc.)
  • Minimum High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent Required
  • Associates Degree of higher in Criminal Justice Preferred
  • Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card Required
  • Arizona State Guard Card Required
  • 3-5 Years of Experience in Security, Law Enforcement, or a Related Field Required
  • Experience in a Behavioral Health or Healthcare Setting Preferred
  • Current Working Knowledge of Arizona State Laws, Applicable City Ordinances, Public Relations, and Investigative Techniques Preferred.
  • Adult and Pediatric CPR and First Aid Preferred
  • Crisis Prevention and Intervention, Crisis Intervention Training, or Prevention and Support Preferred
  • Physical Exam Clearing Work with No Restrictions Required
  • Documentation of Clearance from Communicable Diseases (TB test) Required
  • Valid Driver’s License and Clean Driving Record Required
