Job Description

Partner with business Stakeholders to re-engineer the role-based New Hire Onboarding (NHO) experience. 
•Conduct comprehensive learning needs analysis, establish measurable productivity and proficiency 90-day onboarding targets, and design modern onboarding journey that drives to those targeted outcomes. 
•Apply adult learning principles and best practices to ensure new onboarding journey accommodates for blend of engaging experiences including physical/virtual classroom, self-directed eLearning, point-of-work performance support materials, peer-group learning activities, preceptorship/coaching programs, etc. 
•Partner with HCSC’s Learning and Development Specialists (i.e. Instructional Designers)to drive development of new/revised NHO curriculum components. 
•Assist with train-the-trainer activities. 
•Partner closely with NHO Project Manager to schedule, track, and report on progress of re-engineered curriculum 
•May collaborate with HCSC Learning Strategists (i.e. Learning Business Partners) to design new “non-clinical/core/basics” portion of NHO and/or assist with Pharmacy NHO needs analysis and curriculum design. 



Job Requirements

Required: 
Bachelor Degree in Human Resource Development or related field plus 4 years of experience in instructional design and/or performance consulting. 
Prior success designing/redesigning new hire curriculum or portions thereof. 
Consultative communication skills and negotiation skills. 
Communicate effectively and professionally in visual, verbal and written forms. 
Demonstrate technical aptitude and analytical skill set. 
Manage multiple, complex projects independently and efficiently. 
Sound inductive and deductive reasoning. 
Experience working with others to analyze information and evaluate results to identify appropriate solutions. 
Able to overcome obstacles by developing solutions to meet individual and departmental goals. 
Capable of applying accepted and emerging adult learning theories and instructional design trends on the job. 
Prior experience in the healthcare sector (hospital system, biopharmaceutical industry, healthcare insurance, etc.). 
Proven track record of establishing and nurturing partnerships with multiple internal and external customers, senior management, and subject matter experts. 
Familiarity with learning technologies (e.g., LMS, eLearning authoring tools, etc.) 

Preferred: 
Master Degree in Human Resource Development or related field. 

Role will be located in Chicago. On-site presence desired.
