Install, service, and troubleshoot as described but not limited to the following:
The technician will be responsible for troubleshooting, installing and maintaining intrusion detection systems, access control systems, video surveillance equipment, and related devices. The technician performs preventive and corrective maintenance on the security equipment and returns faulty equipment to operating condition. Knowledge of category cable terminations. Interface with the customer and carry a positive attitude.
Qualifications for the position:
High School diploma or GED and any combination of the following:
Formal electronics training from: Technical School, or related military school in electronics and or communications.
Two (2) or more year’s electronic security industry experience.
Electronics training, to include: Installation Tasks, Soldering, Cable Dressing, Cable Tray, Conduit, and Making/Repairing Connectors.
Two (2) to five (5) years electrical and electronic security equipment installation and repair experience with demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
Experience with the installation, service, troubleshooting and programming of one or more of the following Access Control Systems: Genetec, Lenel, Open Options, Software House, etc.
Follows proper schematic wiring diagrams and hook-up procedures.
Experience in IP camera installation, programming and addressing.
Excellent problem solving & communication skills.
Experience with Personal Computer and Google Sheets, Google Drive, Google Docs and Gmail applications.
Candidate must have the ability to operate hand and power tools and should have his own tools as an installer.
Ability to work in confined spaces, climb ladders, stand for extended periods, work extended hours, and travel independently.
Knowledge in mechanical retrofitting of door frames and gates for cable routing to electric strikes,door locks and magnetic locking devices
Candidate must have a valid driver’s license and an excellent driving record
Candidate must have the ability to communicate and provide excellent customer service.
Must be able to operate articulating boom lifts, climb ladders, and operate such devices in accordance with OSHA standards.
Flexibility, adaptability, leadership, self-starter requiring minimal direct supervision, able to work individually and as part of a team are all desirable traits.
