Highway Materials, Inc. is a producer of Construction Aggregates and Hot Mix Asphalt products in Eastern Pennsylvania, with nine locations to service our customers, from York County in the West to Northampton County in the North and Philadelphia County in the Southeast.

Established in 1936, H.M.I. has been a leader in the construction materials supply industry for over 65 years. We produce asphalt paving materials and crushed stone that meet the specifications of AASHTO, PennDOT, NJDOT, and FAA. Additionally, we are distributors of Geotextiles and various specialty paving products. Highway Materials is capable of servicing the needs of it customers no matter how large or small.

With modern facilities, experienced workforce and certified technical support, Highway Materials performs to the highest standards of the industry.


 


Currently we have an opening for a Clerical Assistant to support our quarry and asphalt plant operations in Plymouth Meeting.


 


Duties include:


Will serve as a backup to the Scale Clerk interacting with truckers, making sure all trucker paperwork is completed, run the scale.


Completing all site required paperwork as needed


Daily data entry into Excel spreadsheets and other software


Creating and maintaining Excel spreadsheets, including formulas


Creating and running reports


Communicates with sales (and other company) representatives on a regular basis


Other duties as assigned.



Requirements:


A minimum of 3 years experience in an administrative capacity


Strong knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook


Prior Construction industry experience a plus.


Strong customer service and numbers skills


Must have good typing and data entry skills


Strong written and verbal communication skills



This position is Full Time, Monday through Friday generally from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., but will need to have flexibility when filling in for the Scale Clerk.
