Maryland Environmental Service has an opening for a Lead Equipment Operator at our Montgomery County Grinding Operations facility in Derwood, MD.

Minimum Requirements:

Graduation from a standard high school or GED plus three years of experience operating heavy equipment. Must have a valid driver's license with less than 5 points. May require a valid Commercial Driver's License.

  • Operates a variety of equipment, such as loaders, dozers, excavators, forklifts, trucks, tub grinders, balers, skid-loaders, conveyor lines, mowers and screening equipment.
  • Assures all equipment fluid levels are in proper working condition and that all safety devices are in the equipment prior to operation.
  • Performs minor maintenance and repair of equipment on a daily basis including cleaning, greasing and fueling.
  • Communicates the necessity for proper and timely maintenance of all equipment to maintenance and/or management personnel.
  • Performs routine manual labor tasks such as grounds and facility maintenance, loading and delivering supplies and materials, and cleaning.
