The Senior Director of Human Resources, develops and implements effective human resources programs, policies, and initiatives and is an active member of the leadership team. The Senior Director of Human Resources is the primary point of service for HR issues and is accountable for workforce planning, employee communications and culture, professional development, employee relations, performance management, professional development including mentoring and coaching, organizational development, compensation, benefits and government compliance.



  • Advises and coaches employees and managers on performance related issues and professional development

  • Manages performance management and succession planning processes

  • Directs design, implementation, and communication of HR and business initiatives

  • Manages benefit plans, legal requirements, and compensation

  • Acts as a key resource in fielding and resolving benefit issues and questions

  • Leads recruitment process, ensures job description accuracy and compliance alignment; collaborates to ensure consistency across the business

  • Oversees all payroll and benefits for company

  • Collaborates with managers, and employees to help resolve employee relations issues; guides to best decisions, prepares/helps prepare corrective actions, facilitates involuntary terminations

  • Develops and facilitates training such as New Hire Orientation, Code of Conduct Standards, Workplace Harassment, Change Management, New Manager Training, etc.

  • Manages the administration of FMLA and Workers’ Compensation programs

  • Manages Affirmative Action Program

  • Analyzes data, including turnover reporting, headcount summaries, exit interview data, internal/external market data, and makes recommendations based on analyses

  • Understands business strategy and priorities and actively participates in strategic direction of the company

  • Oversees employer sponsored events and activities for positive employee morale and engagement

  • Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs

  • Ensures regulatory and government compliance within HR scope

  • Special projects and other duties as assigned

  • All employees are expected to be in compliance with government and corporate laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures





  • Manages all levels of HR/Administrative employees, exempt and non-exempt, entry level through Director level




  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Human Resources, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience required

  • SPHR Certification preferred



  • Minimum 12 years of human resources management experience

  • Strong HR background with the ability to effectively balance both strategic planning and daily execution.
  • Proven track record in delivering results in a changing and growing business environment, experience with mergers and acquisitions

  • Demonstrated employee relations success, benefits management, and staffing

  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing organizational change

  • Experience in leading and managing change within an organization.
  • Must have the highest level of ethics and integrity.

  • Problem solving, influencing, and facilitation

  • Prior experience in a government/defense contracting environment preferred



  • Must have the ability to obtain and/or maintain DoD clearance

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Must possess knowledge of applicable laws and regulations

  • Must have the highest level of ethics and integrity

  • Proficiency with MSOffice products and HRIS applications

  • Customer service oriented professional

  • Ability to identify key barriers/core problems and identify solutions

  • Excellent problem solving skills

  • Creative in approach to dealing with complex situations

  • Ability to independently perform multiple assignments with limited instruction



    Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or otherwise moving objects, weighing up to 50 pounds occasionally and/or a negligible amount of weight frequently. Involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Use of computer.
