A. Financial Planning and Analysis

 

 Prepare Annual Compensation and Benefit Budget 

Assist in researching income, expense, budgeting, and forecasting variances as assigned; provide narration of financial results and trends, as well as prepare ad-hoc analyses as necessary

 Engage in various expense budgeting and forecasting tasks, including, but not limited to, preparing / entering journal entries, data entry, and reporting

 Assist in distribution of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial expense reports to department heads and senior management; respond to financial, budgeting, and forecasting questions by researching and interpreting data

 Assist in compilation of board of directors, rating agency, and other management presentations and analyses

 Perform cost-benefit analyses for process changes and other ventures as requested by upper management

 Assist in cash flow analysis, forecasting, and reporting

 Work with Human Resource Department Head to create annual budget in line with prior years’ expenses and track actual expenses

 Other typical accounting tasks as needed

 Participate in other projects as needed

 Possess absolute discretion and confidentiality regarding sensitive information

 Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations

 

B. Payroll

 Responsible for the preparation and processing of biweekly payroll for 100+ employees; o review and ensure accuracy of approved timecards; o track and deduct garnishments and other special payroll deductions o Review overtime and adjust as needed

 Responsible for the coordination efforts between payroll, human resources, budget and other departments to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data

Establish/maintain employee records; ensure employee changes are entered correctly and made timely; review changes for compliance with federal/state/local regulations

 Track and reconcile 401k contributions and employer match. Submit files to 401k vendor

 Ensure Affordable Care Act (ACA) compliance; Annual forms review

 Annual review of W-2 forms and reconciliation to general ledger

 Create monthly Vanguard reports of exempt/non-exempt employees’ hours worked

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and at least 2-4 years of experience with some exposure to payroll, general accounting, budgeting, planning, and financial analysis required

 Experience with ADP Workforce Now a plus

 Attention to detail

 Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion

 Excellent written and verbal communication skills

 Effective analytical and problem solving skills required

 Corporate accounting / General ledger experience

 Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including intermediate to expert Excel PowerPoint skills

 Proficiency in Sungard EAS, Prophix, and Crystal reporting a plus

 Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently with minimal direction

 Applicants must have a strong work ethic
