Job Description

Ashley Addiction Treatment is seeking Master's Level Licensed Counselors for its Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) on a PRN basis. This position is located in either Bel Air, MD on the campus of University of Maryland’s Upper Chesapeake Health Medical Center, or in Elkton, MD on the campus of Union Hospital. 

Groups are 3 hours in length and run days, evenings and weekends. Compensation is excellent and paid hourly for time worked. We provide Outpatient Treatment including intensive outpatient treatment and ambulatory detoxification services for a range of substance use disorders including dependence on alcohol, opiates and sedatives.

The ideal candidate provides motivational counseling, relapse prevention groups and assistance to patients in better understanding the disease process of alcoholism and chemical dependency. Provides group therapy for clients enrolled in intensive and outpatient substance use treatment for day or evening hours on an as needed basis. May require completing intake assessments and assistance to clinical director as needed.

Must be able to run groups during the following times and complete progress notes afterward. Seeking Weekday and Weekend Outpatient Counselors. Must have experience working with persons coping with substance use disorder. Must be certified LGPC, LGSW, LPC, CAC-AD, CSC-AD, etc. recognized by the state of Maryland. Addictions Trainees will be considered. Non-licensed/certified applicants will not be considered.


8:45 am - 1:00 pm

Essential Functions:

- Conducts a brief orientation of new admissions and determines level of stability to participate in the program and documents in patient’s chart.
- Completes an initial assessment on new admissions, completing the appropriate forms and documents in patient’s chart.
- Meets individually with patients exhibiting behavioral problems, wishing to leave AMA or who need assistance.
- Completes all documentation electronically for client’s attendance in the IOP group. All documentation must be completed within 24 hrs.

Job Requirements

  • Master’s degree in psychology, social work, or other behavioral health discipline from an accredited college or university required.

  • Must have Maryland clinical licensure in appropriate discipline. Licensed Graduate level or higher will be considered.

  • Bachelors degree with a CAC-AD or CSC-AD  and Addictions Trainees will be considered. Must not have had license or certification revoked or suspended.

  • Must have a valid driver's license, be able to pass criminal background and drug screening.

  • Must have experience with Electronic Medical Record systems and/or the ability to train on company software rapidly.
