The Production Shift Lead will be responsible for the daily operations on the production floor, including supervisionofstaff,preparationandstagingrawmaterials,ensuringtheproductionlineis runningandtroubleshootingandcorrectingproductionissues.TheProductionShiftLeadwillensure thatalloperationsareinfullcompliancewithallsafetyandqualityguidelinesandthatallSOPsare followed.
Executes daily production plans to ensure accurate and timely completion of production to meet delivery schedules.
Responsible for maintaining smooth flow of all stages of production process during plant start-up, shift change, and shut down.
Responsible for scrap control / reduction and inventory accuracy.
Ensures the safe and efficient operation of all equipment in the area of responsibility.
Provide training, coaching, and counseling to the hourly workforce.
Recommend and implement sustainable process improvements using lean manufacturing strategies – i.e. improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
Responsible for appropriate staffing to meet delivery schedules including shift assignments, overtime, vacation coverage and absenteeism.
Conduct daily shift meetings to ensure team awareness / engagement in quality expectations, production goals, and company announcements.
Confers with other Production Leaders and Production Manager and Plant Manager to coordinate operations and activities within / between departments.
Other duties as required.
Associate’s or Bachelor’s level college degree
Forklift Certified (preferred but not required)
5+ years of related experience in a process/manufacturing environment
3+ years of supervisory experience
Experience in a batch process plant (construction materials/engineered mortars/food)
