PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Perform variety of associate researcher functions in support of psychology/ psychiatric research efforts, to include epidemiologic research, survey, and interventions research. This work includes conducting literature reviews and providing written summaries based on the literature, constructing and managing databases, conducting surveys/interviews of research subjects, establishing collaborations with other investigators, setting up data collections, and providing technical assistance in database management and statistical analyses.

  2. Conduct statistical analyses of complex research data from health research studies.

  3. Prepare reports and briefs of findings for national/ international meetings and senior military leaders. Prepare manuscripts for peer reviewing medical/ psychology journals.

  4. Must be able to work independently in all aspects of the research, including complex statistical analyses at a professional level meeting established timeline.

  5. Should be able to travel to conduct field data collections or to attend scientific meetings as needed. 

  6. Provide technical assistance to TechWerks Headquarters as needed and participate on proposal writing projects when requested.

  7. Provide all job-related progress reports/technical reports as requested.

  8. Maintain a safe workplace ensuring that he/she is aware of and observes  appropriate safety and occupational health rules and regulations. Employee is required to attend safety training relative to his/her position and report any infractions of safety procedures to the facility Safety Officer.

  9. Performs light duties and other related duties as required and assigned.

  10. Supervise direct reports as assigned by TechWerks.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • PhD in psychology, public health or other behavioral science fields to include education, sociology, or social work with a behavioral research emphasis.

  • Must have excellent English/writing and interpersonal skills.

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft office programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Must have demonstrated ability to conduct analysis using statistics programs such as SPSS, STATA, R.

  • Must have at least one-year full time work experience in public health or social science research.

  • Demonstrated ability to write and publish in peer-reviewed medical or social science journals.

  • Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: knowledge of applicable highly complex scientific/office procedures and techniques relating to position.

  • Must be able to work independently following a brief period of specific technical training.
