Noverhed, Inc. is currently seeking an CNC Programmer, Operator, Installation Tech with strong customer facing ability. The position will be based in Loudon, TN.
o Works from prints or drawings to produce a variety of items.
o Produces precision items beyond the capabilities of production machine operators.
o Follows lockout-tagout procedures when machines must be shut down for repair.
o Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
o Performs prescribed preventative maintenance on machines as required per the P.M. charts.
o Reads and interprets blueprints to plan setup and operation of all types of machine tools.
o Plans setup and operates typical machine shop tools, producing parts to tolerances and company specifications.
o Clean up sweepings of machine tool operation scrap and places in trash bin.
o Responsible for loading parts, operating controls, setting offsets, and inspection of quality parts to meet requirements.
o Studies and interprets drawings, manuals, specifications or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations and setup requirements.
o Unload deliveries with forklift as needed.
o Be available at the shop during regular working hours.
o Pick up parts from local distributors as needed for projects.
o Manage shop inventory keeping parts for each project segregated.
o Install, troubleshoot, and attend to equipment onsite as required by the project or customer
o Promotes the effective exchange of ideas and information within the Company.
o Maintains contact with vendors for necessary equipment, and supplies.
o Maintain appearance for customers / vendors at all times – outside / inside.
o Communicates with supervisor for assignments and to resolve machining or quality issues.
o Participate and lead as appropriate in safety process standards to ensure an injury free work site.
o Must be able to successfully perform the following tasks: milling, turning, drilling, taping, de-burning, bench operations, and inspection.
o Must be willing to accept and receive frequent supervision and assistance with regard to machine set-up.
o Offline programming experience required. (Mastercam preferred.)
o Set-up and operation of CNC Mills & Lathes, including 3 and 4 axis CNC machines
o Knowledge in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) is a plus
o Must be able to operate all common machine shop equipment and hand tools skillfully.
o Must successfully read and interpret drawings/blueprints for manufacturing in 2D and 3D.
o Must have intermediate knowledge and application of precision measuring instruments. Including but not limited to: calipers, ID and OD micrometers, depth gages, indicators, and scales.
o Must have knowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars, fixtures, inserts and other accessories used on various machines.
o Must be able to adapt in a changing work environment.
o Must have understanding of basic math skills to include but not limited to the following: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, geometry and algebra for the purpose of calculating material fabrication.
o Formal training in technical applications (i.e. machining, programming and fabrication, etc.) is desired.
