Responsibilities include but are not limited to:


  • Manage and process semi-payroll of Bank and affiliates
  • Track and deduct all garnishments, and other special payroll deductions.
  • Process “off cycle” payroll for: commissions, bonuses, severance, manual checks, and overtime
  • Handle employee payroll inquires
  • Handle inquiries related to payroll earnings, deductions and tax withholding
  • Prepare financial reports for audits, budget, accounting
  • Prepare periodic payroll reports for review by management
  • Input journal entries for all payroll activity, and reconcile personnel general ledger accounts
  • Understand proper taxation of employer paid benefits
  • Process accurate and timely year end reporting (W2, W2c, 1095c,etc.
  • Manage PC Time Clock of all non exempt staff

Other Duties:

  • Prepare and update employment records related to hiring, transfers, promotions, and termination
  • Coordinate job interview with candidates and managers/complete background checks with vendors
  • Conduct new hire orientation
  • Maintain accurate employee record files
  • Create analytical reports and dashboards regarding wide headcount, cost per employee, ecf
  • Analyze personnel/payroll data to create reports for headcount, budget, etc.
  • Support Division Head of Human Resources/HR Manager

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or relevant field. Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of ADP Workforce Now preferred
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with payroll
  • ·Excellent working knowledge in Excel and Power Point is required.
  • Must have highly analytical skills with strong working knowledge of general payroll protocols, accounting principles and Federal, State and local regulations.
  • Working knowledge of accounting processes and the integration between payroll and general ledger required.

Language Skills:

  • Strong verbal and written (English, Spanish, Portuguese is a Plus) communication skills.
  • Must having worked in Banking
  • Maintain Confidentiality
  • Work with minimum supervision
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, high pressure environment
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • · Must multi-task effectively
