We have an exciting opportunity with our client in Maple Heights for a HR Coordinator who will perform administrative work in planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating the Human Resource activities of the City. Work hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Job Duties:

· Serve in a counseling manner to City Departments, Boards, and Commissions, providing policy advice

· Plan and administer recruitment programs

· Serve as Equal Employment Opportunity Officer and Employee Assistance Program Coordinator

· Plan and direct all activities involving recruitment, selection, hiring, upgrading, employee benefits, and separation of employees

· Screen applicants for employment

· Conduct pay and fringe benefit surveys

· Develop personnel forms, procedures, and methods of recordkeeping

· Handle worker’s compensation and employee benefit matters

Qualifications:

·       Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, or a closely related field; five years progressively responsible experience in Personnel Administration and Labor Relations; Advanced Degree preferred

·       Must have recent experience working with elected and appointed officials, labor organizations, and in a unionized environment

·       Must have demonstrated capabilities in recruiting, compensation, benefits, risk management, labor relations, and negotiations

·       Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all City officials, employees, and the general public

·       Must be able to plan, supervise, and review the work of technical and clerical subordinates

·       Must have tact and courtesy, good judgement, thoroughness and dependability

·       Must have excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills

·       Must be computer literate with accurate data entry skills

·       Must be able to handle highly confidential and sensitive information
