The software team works closely with the system engineering, biology and bioengineering teams to develop system capabilities that transform molecular biology workflows. We are looking for a senior software engineer to participate in the development of a complex middle tier application that drives workflows on a biomedical research instrument. This requires experience in engaging with internal customers, gathering user stories, converting them to good requirements and delivering quality software. The application domain requires some experience in developing software applications interfacing with any Hardware or Equipment.
Previous experience in bi-tech is not required.
8+ years’ experience in developing enterprise quality software applications.
Degree in Computer Science or related field. Masters or PhD is a plus.
Proficient in C# OR Java OR a similar Object Oriented Programming language.
Proficient in Object Oriented Design and Programming
Knowledge of Software Design Patterns a strong plus. Python experience a strong plus.
Experience in developing Windows Desktop Applications a strong plus.
Agile methodology experience and comfortable with a fast-pace environment and frequent iterations.
Solid understanding of Software Architecture and how it maps to design and requirements.
Work with non-SW engineers to understand user stories, translate these to software requirements.
Proven ability to engage with customers (Mechanical and Biomedical Engineers, Marketing and Field Engineers) to discover use-cases, create system-level and software specific requirements.
