Precision Task Group is seeking for a IT Project Manager for a long term contract role in Houston, TX

Job Description:
Project Management plans, controls and executes a project or set of related projects to meet identified busines needs and deliver business value, through acquiring and utilizing the necessary resources and skills, within agreed parameters of cost, timescales and quality. This position will lead small to medium projects of moderate complexity and risk and has the following accountabilities:

Plan, execute, monitor, control, and close all aspects of the project lifecycle.
Mobilize and lead a team with the necessary skills, composed of a mixture of staff and suppliers across organizational boundaries.
Rigorously manage scope through a structured change management process to ensure commitments are achieved within agreed time, cost, and quality parameters with focus on delivering the business benefits.
Create and validate financial forecasts and provide ongoing reconciliation of resources and expenditures.
Ensure appropriate stakeholder change and communication plans and engagements are developed and executed.
Proactively analyze variances against plan to assess trends threatening agreed scope, time, cost, and quality commitments. Identify signs that a project may be at risk and escalate quickly and appropriately.
Apply Client project management and IT control/assurance methodologies, standards and processes including architecture, information risk management, and transition to support.

Special Challenges:

Quickly earn the trust of sponsors and key stakeholders. Resolve conflict and deliver tough messages with grace. Continually update relevant business stakeholders of project status.
Execute and drive decisions despite limited information.
Motivate a team while removing barriers so that the team can complete its objectives while managing pressure.
Work virtually in a diverse golbal organization and with major outsourced suppliers of infrastructure and application services.
Tailor stakeholder communications material and level of detail to the audience.

 

Job Requirements

Skills & Reqs

A 4-yr degree in IT or a related field
Agile project experience
Good understanding and experience of the various Agile frameworks
Experience planning and leading of Agile projects and educating stakeholders and others involved while managing a project
Agile certifications/trainings preferred
Experience in Agile tooling (ex-VSTS0 is a must )
Exhibiting sevant leadership behavior, empowerment and increasing transparency that enables self-orgaization of teams
Professional certifications related to project or progarmme management are desirable.
Familiar with and able to adhere to project management methodologies and tools.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Typical experience: 5 yrs in IT with at least 2 yrs of experience in leading projects or workstreams within projects
Typical project size: <10 FTE
Typical Job Grade of Supervisor/Manager: JG2 or higher
