Technical Support Analyst 2 - Projects

This Project Tech will need to be well spoken and will be client-facing.  The Project Technical Analyst is someone that can thrive in a fast-paced environment and would enjoy supporting external clients.  The person will be responsible for supporting project work that entail designing and implementing network/server projects in small and medium business environments.  The Project Analyst will work together with the team to provide top notch customer support and implementations.  Must have excellent communication and customer service skills. This person will be able to work well within a team environment.

Project Technicians work very closely with their colleagues across all departments and clients to ensure projects are following properly.  This person must have the ability to communicate directly and report progress and/or issues both to the clients and internally to the rest of the staff.

This is very much a client-facing position, therefore the ability to handle oneself in a polished and professional manner is an absolute MUST.  

Skill-set:

  • Excellent troubleshooter
  • level 2 technical support in a Microsoft environment
  • Strong Active Directory experience
  • Great communication skills and the ability to work with multiple clients 
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies, specifically VMWare ESX
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Exchange  
  • Office 365 hosted Exchange
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Server technology – Active Directory, terminal services/RDS
  • Intermediate knowledge of networking – TCP/IP, WAN connectivity
  • Intermediate knowledge of firewall concepts – specifically Sonicwall/Cisco ASA
  • Intermediate knowledge of VPN/Remote access technologies – client-based, IPSEC tunneling
  • Backup solutions
  • Strong attention to detail, specifically with regards to documentation
  • Ability to act as a higher-level resource for escalation
  • Able to assist with Network/Systems design, to include building a network and modifying networks as business needs change
  • Some after-hours work/weekend work required
  • Adhere to solution standard

Responsibilities:

New equipment installations:

  • Servers
  • Firewalls and Routers
  • VOIP
  • Switches and Wireless
  • End-user devices (PCs, laptops, etc.)
  • Peripherals (printers, scanners, MFPs, etc)
  • Backup Solutions (Veeam)

Migrations:

  • Servers (Windows, Hyper-V, VMware)
  • Email (Exchange, Hosted, O365, etc)
  • Applications
  • Third party vendor management
  • Infrastructure projects:
  • Virtualization projects
  • ISP installations/migrations
  • New / changing physical locations (customer moves)
  • Other IT projects as required (Escalations)
  • Client Onboardings

Skills that would be helpful:

  • Spam filtering solutions
  • Veeam Backup and Replication
  • Security specific concepts and best practices
  • SAN experience
  • Cloud Services – Azure, AWS, etc.
