Marketing Specialist

General Responsibilities

Responsible for performing various duties to support the traditional marketing function; achieving goals as established in the Marketing Department's annual operating plan; coordinating work within the department, as well as with other departments; complying with operating policies and procedures established for the marketing function; communicating with appropriate personnel; responding to inquiries or requests for information; maintaining appropriate records and providing assigned reports.

Basic Qualifications

Education/Training:  A B.S. or B.A. degree in Marketing, Communication, or a related field of study; specialized financial marketing education and training. 

Software: Advanced skills in all MicroSoft tools to include Word, PowerPoint, Excel; advanced skills in the Adobe suite to include PhotoShop, Illustrator, InDesign; experienced with email marketing creation and campaigns; CRM (Salesforce) experience preferred.

Skill(s):  Excellent reading, writing, grammar, composition and mathematics skills; excellent proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills; proficient analytical skills; moderate computer skills; a working knowledge of current and proposed bank regulations affecting the marketing function; visual and auditory skills; valid driver's license.

Experience:   A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in related fields normally required.

Essential Duties

Performs various duties to support the traditional marketing function, of which the following are illustrative:

Provides various Lines of Business with marketing materials required for their jobs; creates physical or electronic invites for events; physical or electronic posters for branches; develops content for email marketing, creates support material for sales or promotional campaigns.

Email creation, list upload, and preparation for distribution of event, promotions, and newsletters to supplement materials distributed via alternate channels.

Reports on email distribution (open rate, bounce, block, undeliverable, etc.)

 

Participates in the implementation of marketing programs for the bank's products and services.

Assists in the preparation and distribution of materials relating to presentations, promotions, and advertising.

Provides assistance for sales and customer service activities prepares material for client meetings, and encourages participation of staff.

Creates new online appointment requests in Time Trade and monitors existing.

Provide web content to meet the objective of the Line of Business and perform review prior to publish.

Supports CNC’s Lines of Business to include Retail, CNB Mortgage, CNB Insurance, CNB Wealth Management, Commercial Services, Canandaigua National Trust Company and others as assigned.

May be assigned primary vendor contact for marketing related systems.

Achieves goals assigned to the Traditional Marketing Specialist as part of the Marketing Department's annual operating and marketing plan and budget.

Coordinates specific work tasks with other personnel within the department as well as with other departments in order to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of information.

Attends, and represents the bank at various community, business, and educational functions to develop an awareness of the bank's services, and to strengthen the bank.

Complies with established operating policies and procedures in order to maintain adequate controls and to support the bank's adherence to outside regulatory requirements.

Communicates with management and staff personnel in order to integrate goals and activities.

Responds to inquiries relating to his/her particular area, or to requests from other bank personnel, customers, etc., within given time frames and within established policy.

Maintains appropriate records and provides assigned reports.
